Honey and the Sting Class 6th Summary in English
Shambu Nath was a middle-aged office-going man in the story. He had thin hair and pluffy cheeks. He was having a last look at himself in the dressing table mirror before leaving for the office. He was unhappy about his protruding belly. He was always punctual in his office and never like to get late and also disliked the person who would make him late.
One day when he was about to leave for the office, the doorbell rang and he found a young man having the looks of a salesman standing at the door. The young man wished him good morning and offered him, honey. He told Shambu Nath that they had brought down a beehive and it yielded a huge amount of honey and so he offered him a portion of it.
He got very angry with the young man because he was getting very late for his office. So, he asked the man to give him the honey he had brought. Then, he came to know that the young man had not brought honey with him but he had to collect it from the place where they had brought down the beehive. The young asked him if he had to bring a container for the honey.
Shambu Nath took a bucket in his hand and slowly followed the young man to the place where they had brought down the beehive. He came to know that it was not a gift and he had to pay Rs. 600 for the honey. While he was taking out the money from his wallet a bee stung him on his forehead which gave him a lot of pain.
Shambu Nath was confused to understand what hurt him more, the money he paid for the honey or the pain he got from the sting of the bee.

कहानी में शंभू नाथ एक अधेड़ उम्र के ऑफिस जाने वाले व्यक्ति है। ऑफिस के लिए निकलने से पहले वह ड्रेसिंग टेबल के शीशे में खुद को आखिरी बार देख रहा था। वह अपने उभरे हुए पेट से नाखुश था। वह अपने कार्यालय में हमेशा समय का पाबंद रहता था और कभी भी देर करना पसंद नहीं करता था और उस व्यक्ति को भी नापसंद करता था जो उसे देर कर देता था।
एक दिन जब वह ऑफिस के लिए निकलने ही वाला था कि दरवाजे की घंटी बजी और उसने देखा कि एक युवक दरवाजे पर खड़ा है, जो सेल्समैन की तरह दिखता है। युवक ने उसे सुप्रभात कहा और उसे, शहद की पेशकश की। उसने शंभू नाथ से कहा कि वे एक छत्ते को नीचे लाए हैं और उसमें बहुत अधिक मात्रा में शहद निकला है और इसलिए उसने उसे उसका एक भाग भेंट किया।
