In earlier times, dogs used to live a free life as the wolves do. But then there born a dog who did not like this way of living. Once he was sick and got tired of wandering here and there in search of food. Also, he was frightened of the animal stronger than him. He decided to be a servant of a master who is the strongest animal on the earth. So, he started searching for such a master.
First of all, he met his relative, a big wolf who was aggressive, and powerful. Dog asked the wolf to be his master and the wolf accepted to be his master and they went on walking together. After some time, the wolf sniffed something and hid in the bushes. The dog enquired about this behaviour. The wolf replied that there was a bear and if see them he might eat them up. So, the dog feels the bear is stronger than a wolf.
The dog decided to leave the company of the wolf and work for the bear. He asked bear to be his master. The bear agreed to be his master. The bear decided to hunt a cow to eat its flesh and satisfy their hunger.
The two continued on their way and suddenly they found a herd of cows mooing loudly. Looking at this, the bear hid behind a tree and looked from there. He ran away into the deep forest when he came to know that it was a lion nearby them. Now the dog came to know that lion is the strongest animal on earth. He left the bear and decided to join the lion.
The dog asked the lion to be his master. The lion agreed to take up the dog as his servant. The dog stayed with him and served him for a long time. Now he was happy as he enjoyed a secure and happy life, the way he wanted. But it didn’t last forever. Once, both of them were walking amongst the rocks on a narrow path. Suddenly, the lion stopped angrily and quietly moved away.
The dog was shocked to see its master in such a situation, so he asked about the reasons. The lion replied it was human beings. They are the dangerous and strongest creatures on earth. On hearing this, the dog left the lion as he wanted the strongest master on earth.
The dog then went to the man and declared him to be his master. Since then, the dog has faithfully served man and has no other master.

अपने मालिक को ऐसी स्थिति में देखकर कुत्ता चौंक गया तो उसने कारण पूछा। शेर ने जवाब दिया कि यह इंसान है। वे पृथ्वी पर सबसे खतरनाक और सबसे मजबूत जीव हैं। यह सुनकर, कुत्ते ने शेर को छोड़ दिया क्योंकि वह पृथ्वी पर सबसे मजबूत मालिक चाहता था।
फिर कुत्ता उस आदमी के पास गया और उसे अपना मालिक घोषित कर दिया। तब से, कुत्ते ने ईमानदारी से मनुष्य की सेवा की है और उसका कोई दूसरा मालिक नहीं है।
