Ans. I help old people when I get a chance. I help my grandfather in searching for his spectacles. I go with him for his evening walks.

a) They have reduced good eyesight so cannot see properly.
b) They have less hearing power and cannot hear properly.
c) They experience joint pain in the knees and other joints.

Ans. Ravi bhaiya comes to know so many things by hearing. Blind people have a very strong sense of hearing, touch and feeling.
4. Have you ever needed a stick? When?
Ans. No, I have never needed a stick.
5. Can you think about when you may need a stick?
Ans. I will need a stick when I will get old, get injured in an accident, get a fracture or sprain in my leg or when we have to climb a rock or a mountain.
6. How do we help those people who cannot see?
Ans. We can help those people who cannot see in the following ways:
a) Climbing the bus.
b) Offering a seat on the bus.
c) Help them in crossing the roads.
d) Helping them in climbing stairs.
e) By reading the news for them and telling them stories.

Ans. No, there is no such person in my family. I know a boy in my village who cannot see. People mostly help him in crossing the road, climbing the bus and finding the way etc.

Blindfold any one child in the group. One by one, the other children come to him or her quietly. The child who is blindfolded has to guess who the other child is, by touching him or her. Take care not to make any sound. Do you know why?
Ans. Sounds help people to locate things. If someone makes a sound, then the blindfolded child can recognise the voice.

Ans. I can hear the sounds of a moving fan, A.C, tik tik sound of a wall clock, the sound of opening and closing of a door and the ringing of a doorbell.
- By just smelling can you guess if it is some person close to you?
Ans. Yes, we can guess or recognize persons from the smell of scents they use in their clothes and the scented oil they use in their hair.

Let us see whether it is difficult or easy to recognize a shape without seeing it.
Take a sheet of sandpaper. Make a shape on it by pressing a piece of thick wool or thick thread on it. Ask your friend to close her/his eyes and identify the shape by running her/his finger on the sheet. Ask your friend, was it easy or difficult?
Ans. Students have to do it.
Ask your friend to make a shape on the sandpaper in a similar way. Now, you identify it by feeling with your fingers.
Ans. Students have to do it themselves.
