Once a famous singer Swami Haridas and his disciples were travelling through the forest, and Tansen saw and frightened them by roaring like a lion. Swami Haridas found the boy very talented and decided to make him a good singer. After seeking permission from Tansen’s father he made him his disciple and started teaching him music.
Tansen was ten years old when he left his house for eleven years for learning music. He became a great singer in future. His parents died at that time. His father’s last wish was that Tansen should meet Mohammad Ghaus a holy man of Gwalior. So, he went to Gwalior and while living in with Mohammed Ghaus, Tansen was often taken to the court of Rani Mrignaini, who was a great musician herself. There he met and married one of the ladies of the court Hussaini. She also became the disciple of Swami Haridas.

Looking at his popularity some of the courtiers became jealous of Tansen and planned to kill him. One of the courtiers, Shaukat Mian, suggested an idea to execute the plan to kill Tansen.
He suggested making Tansen sing Raga Deepak. Tansen Class 6 Summary in Hindi
