कवि कहता है कि शब्द हमारे विचारों और विचारों को प्रस्तुत करने के साधन हैं। हर मन में विचार और विचार होते हैं। उचित शब्दों के अभाव में किसी को भी अपने विचार को मरने नहीं देना चाहिए। कवि का कहना है कि अंग्रेजी एक अद्भुत भाषा है और हर कोई इसका उपयोग करके अपने विचारों को खूबसूरती से प्रस्तुत कर सकता है। किसी को यह जानना होगा कि शब्दों को सही क्रम में कैसे रखा जाए ताकि उनके दिमाग में स्पष्ट और खूबसूरती से अद्भुत विचार प्रस्तुत किए जा सकें। बहुत से सुंदर विचार अभी तक शब्दों के अभाव में व्यक्त नहीं हो पाए हैं।

The Wonderful Words Class 6 Poem Line by Line Explanation

Stanza 1

Never let a thought shrivel and die
For want of a way to say it
For English is a wonderful game
And all of you can play it.
All that you do is match the words
To the brightest thoughts in your head
So that they come out clear and true
And handsomely groomed and fed—
For many of the loveliest things
Have never yet been said.

Explanation: In the first stanza of the poem, the poet says that we should never let a thought or an idea die due to a lack of words for expressing it. We must not let the idea or thought fade away for lack of ability to express it. The poet says that English is a very rich language and one can use it to present his/her thoughts effectively. One just has to match the words perfectly to express a wonderful idea present in his/her mind clearly and perfectly to the world. The poet says there are so many marvellous ideas and thoughts that have not been said and done yet due to a lack of proper knowledge of expressing a thought or an idea.
