Introduction

The Poem “This Land of Ours” describes the beauty of Kashmir. Kashmir is known for tourist destinations as there are so many places of tourist attractions here. There are several gardens, springs, waterfalls and snowcapped mountains in Kashmir. The poet also urges us to look after the natural beauty of Kashmir.

The bulbul chirps to the blossoms:
A flower-garden is this land of ours,
This land of ours is a flower-garden,
A flower-garden is this land of ours.

Sunny summits girdle it around –
Fair walls of shining marble –
In the midst is this gem, so green;
A flower-garden is this land of ours.

In the vales of mountain ranges
Spring has chosen a seat to rest.
Tulips bloom in gardens like Shalimar –
A flower-garden is this land of ours.

 

Springs, rivers and streams,
Rivulets and roaring waterfalls,
Are thrilled with the joy of spring.
A flower-garden is this land of ours.

Around roses the bulbul turns in love
And the bumblebee seeks the narcissus –
Kashmiris feel drunk in excitement.

Is a charming garden, indeed;

This Land of Ours Class 5 Poem Summary in English

The poet shows his love for his homeland Kashmir through the poem. The poem has 6 stanzas in it and each stanza is full of praise about the beauty of Kashmir. The poet personified a bulbul bird to describe the beauty of Kashmir. At the beginning of the poem, the poet (bulbul) describes his land as a garden of flowers.

The poet says that the land of Kashmir is surrounded by sunny mountains and these mountains are like walls of marble surrounding a precious gem inside. The homeland of the poet has a lot of springs. And there are Tulip flowers blossoms in gardens like Shalimar.

Kashmir is the land where springs, rivers, streams, rivulets and roaring waterfalls can be seen as full of the joy of the spring season. They all are thrilled in the spring season.

The bulbul birds can be seen making love near the roses whereas bumblebees can be seen buzzing around the narcissus flowers. All the peoples of Kashmir seem filled with excitement.

Finally, the poet says that his homeland is a charming garden and he urges people to shower their love on it and look after it dearly.

कवि अपनी मातृभूमि कश्मीर के प्रति अपने प्रेम को कविता के माध्यम से दर्शाता है। कविता में 6 छंद हैं और प्रत्येक छंद कश्मीर की सुंदरता के बारे में प्रशंसा से भरा है। कवि ने कश्मीर की सुंदरता का वर्णन करने के लिए एक बुलबुल पक्षी का रूप धारण किया। कविता के आरंभ में कवि (बुलबुल) अपनी भूमि को फूलों के बगीचे के रूप में वर्णित करता है।

कवि कहता है कि कश्मीर की भूमि धूप वाले पहाड़ों से घिरी हुई है और ये पहाड़ संगमरमर की दीवारों की तरह हैं जो अंदर एक कीमती रत्न को घेरे हुए हैं। कवि की मातृभूमि में बहुत सारे झरने हैं। और शालीमार जैसे बगीचों में ट्यूलिप के फूल खिलते हैं।

कश्मीर वह भूमि है जहाँ झरने, नदियाँ, नदियाँ, नदियाँ और गरजते झरने बसंत के मौसम की खुशी से भरे हुए देखे जा सकते हैं। बसंत के मौसम में वे सभी रोमांचित होते हैं।

बुलबुल पक्षियों को गुलाब के पास प्यार करते हुए देखा जा सकता है जबकि भौंरा को नरगिस के फूलों के आसपास भिनभिनाते देखा जा सकता है। कश्मीर के तमाम लोग जोश से भरे नजर आते हैं।

अंत में, कवि कहता है कि उसकी मातृभूमि एक आकर्षक बगीचा है और वह लोगों से इस पर अपना प्यार बरसाने और इसकी देखभाल करने का आग्रह करता है।
