Bringing Up Kari Chapter Summary in Hindi
“Bringing Up Kari” is a heartwarming tale about a five-month-old elephant named Kari and his bond with the author. Kari lived in a pavilion under a thatched roof supported by sturdy tree stumps. Despite bumping into the poles, Kari’s playful nature didn’t cause any damage.
Kari loved his morning baths in the river, where he would joyfully splash around. After the bath, the author would leave him near the jungle’s edge, while he ventured into the forest for twigs. This process, from sharpening the hatchet to collecting tender twigs, took a considerable amount of time.
Kari and the author shared a special friendship, evident when Kari saved a boy from drowning. The author, not a swimmer, was in danger, but Kari rushed into the water, the author grabbed Kari’s trunk and Kari pulled both him and the boy to safety.
Like a baby, Kari had mischievous moments, especially with a penchant for stealing bananas. He would cleverly snatch them through the dining room window, enjoying his loot in private. However, when scolded by the author, Kari learned not to steal.
Kari proved to be a quick learner, grasping commands like “Mali” for walking after just three lessons. The crucial “Dhat,” a command to sit, took him three weeks to master. Learning these commands is vital for an elephant, as they help in dire situations. The author explains that a unique call signals the elephant, aiding in emergencies such as getting lost in the jungle. The trained elephant understands the call and skillfully clears a path by pulling down trees, frightening away potential dangers like tigers.
In essence, “Bringing Up Kari” is a delightful story portraying the endearing friendship between a baby elephant and his caring human companion, highlighting their adventures and shared learning experiences.
