If a person who runs a tea stall earns 30 in a day.
(a) How much will he earn in 10 days?
Ans. One-day earning = ₹ 30
10 days earning = 30 × 10 = ₹ 300.
(b) And in a month?
Ans. (One month = 30 days)
One-day income = ₹ 30
30 days income = 30 x 30 = ₹ 9000

Have you ever heard of someone taking a loan? For what?
Ans. Yes, I have heard of someone taking a loan. It is taken to buy a house or a car or a shop.
Hariya and Babu want to buy a handcart for ₹ 300
Hariya took a loan of ₹ 300 from a bank for six months. He had to pay ₹ 51 every month to the bank.
Babu took a loan of ₹ 300 from Chunnilal. After six months he paid back ₹ 360.
How much loan was taken?
Ans. 300 was taken as loan.
How much money was paid back?
Ans. In the case of Hariya:
Hariya took a loan of 300 from a bank and paid 51 every month.
So he paid back to the bank in 6 months = 51 × 6 = ₹ 306
In case of Babu
Babu paid back to Chunnilal ₹ 360.
Who has to pay back more Hariya or Babu?
Ans. Babu has to pay back more.

How much does Kiran earn from 9 Rickshaws in a Day?
Ans. For 1 rickshaw she gets 20 per day.
So, for 9 rickshaws she will earn ₹ 20 × 9 = ₹ 180

Ans. By multiplying 20 × 9, I did it.

(C) 12 kg of iron
Sol. Cost Price of 1 kg plastic= ₹10
Selling Price of 1 kg Plastic = ₹ 12
Profit on Selling 1 kg Plastic =12 – 10 = ₹ 2
(A) Cost of 1 kg plastic = ₹ 10
Cost of 22 kg plastic = ₹ 22 × 10 = ₹ 220 Ans.
(B) Cost of 1 kg waste paper =₹ 4
Cost of 23 kg waste paper = ₹ 23 × 4 = ₹ 92 Ans.
(C) Cost of 1 kg iron = ₹ 12
Cost of 12 kg iron = 12 x 12 = ₹ 144 Ans.

So, the cost of 63 kg of plastic will be ₹12 × 63 = ₹ 756

Kiran bought 1 kg of plastic for ` 10, but sold 1 kg plastic for ` 12. How much money does she earn on selling 1 kg plastic? ` __________
So, how much money does she earn for 63 kg? ` _________
Ans. Cost Price of 1 kg plastic=10
Selling Price of 1 kg Plastic = 12
Profit on Selling 1 kg Plastic =12-10 = 2
In Second Case
Earning on Selling 1 kg plastic = 2
Earning on Selling 63 kg plastic = 2 × 63
On adding the numbers = 120 + 6 = 126

Kiran sells 32 kg iron. How much money will Dinu pay for 32 kg iron?
Ans. The rate of 1 kg iron = 14
The rate of 32 kg iron = 14 × 32
We write as
Adding the numbers in the boxes: 300 + 120 +20 + 8 = 448
So, Dinu will pay 448 for 32 kg of iron.
Kiran buys 1 kg iron for 12 but sells it for 14. How much does she earn when she sells 32 kg of iron?
Sol. Cost of 1 kg iron = 12
Selling price of 1 kg iron = 14
Earning on Selling 1 kg iron =14 – 12 = 2
In the second case,
After selling 32 kg iron, she earns………
Earning on selling 1 kg iron = 2
Earning on selling 32 kg iron = 2 × 32

What does Dinu pay for brass? How much money will Dinu pay for 4 kg brass?
Ans. Dinu pays 180 for 1 kg of brass.
Cost of 1 kg brass = 180
Cost of 4 kg brass = 180 × 4
