How I wonder what you are!
Up above the world so high,

When this blazing sun is gone,

The Star Class 3rd Poem Summary in English
There is a little child in the poem who expresses her amusement through the poem. When she sees that the stars are twinkling at night, she wonders about them and thinks what were these. She compares it with a diamond up in the sky. She says that when the hot and bright sun sets in the west in the evening time and there is no light of sun anymore, the stars starts appearing in the sky and share their beautiful ‘little light’. They keep twinkling all the night.
The child further says that the tiny light of the stars guides travellers about the right path. Here the poet may be talking about the Northern Star or Polestar which is particularly popular in the ancient time to show the way to the sailor.
The little child also expresses her pleasure in the poem. She further says when everything is dark in the night, the stars peep through her curtains throughout the nighttime. It remains in the sky till the next morning and when the sun again comes to the sky with its light, only then do the stars go away.
In the last stanza, the child says that the bright and tiny light of stars lights the path of traveller in the dark but she is not aware of what the star is but she feels amused to see the twinkling stars in the night sky.

कविता में एक छोटी बच्ची है जो कविता के माध्यम से अपने मनोरंजन को व्यक्त करती है। जब वह देखती है कि रात में तारे टिमटिमा रहे हैं, तो वह उनके बारे में सोचती है और सोचती है कि ये क्या हैं। वह इसकी तुलना आकाश में एक हीरे से करती है। वह कहती है कि जब शाम के समय सूरज पश्चिम में अस्त हो जाता है और सूरज की रोशनी नहीं रह जाती है, तो तारे आसमान में दिखने लगते हैं और अपनी खूबसूरत रोशनी साझा करते हैं। वे रात भर टिमटिमाते रहते हैं।
बच्ची आगे कहती है कि सितारों की रोशनी यात्रियों को सही रास्ते पर ले जाती है। यहाँ कवि नॉर्दर्न स्टार या पोलस्टार के बारे में बात कर रहा होगा जो नाविक को रास्ता दिखाने के लिए प्राचीन समय में विशेष रूप से लोकप्रिय है।
छोटी बच्ची भी कविता में अपनी खुशी व्यक्त करती है। वह आगे कहती हैं कि जब रात में सब कुछ अँधेरा होता है, तो रात भर तारे उसके पर्दों से झाँकते हैं। यह अगली सुबह तक आकाश में रहते हैं और जब सूर्य फिर से अपने प्रकाश के साथ आकाश में आता है, तब तारे चले जाते हैं।
अंतिम छंद में, बच्ची कहती है कि सितारों की चमकदार रोशनी अंधेरे में यात्री के मार्ग को रोशन करती है लेकिन उसे पता नहीं है कि तारा क्या है पर वह रात के आकाश में टिमटिमाते सितारों को देखकर खुश महसूस करती है।
