The poem is one of the shortest poems written by Alfred Tennyson. It has two stanzas having three lines each. The poet through this poem describes the swiftness and agility of the bird eagle. Eagle is the king of birds, flies high in the sky and latches on to their prey very quickly.

The Eagle Class 5 Poem Summary in English
The first stanza of the poem is a description of a creature, only labelled with the pronoun “He”. The poet sees an eagle that lives alone on a high rock that is steep and sharp-edged on the top of a mountain. The eagle is holding the rock with its curved claws. The eagle is so high in the sky that it appears very close to the sun. He stands all alone on the lonely rock because no human being or animal is there. There is a blue sky that forms a ring around it in the background.
The second stanza describes the action of the eagle after seeing its prey. There is a sea beneath the rock on which the eagle is standing. The waves are rising on the surface of the sea. These waves look like wrinkles on the face of the sea. The eagle watching the sea from the mountain wall on which it is standing. The first two lines of the stanza show how he watches from his high perch, the sea moves below him and the third line tells us about the swift move made by an eagle to pounce upon its prey like a thunderbolt.

“ईगल” एक छोटी कविता है जो चील पक्षी और अपने शिकार को पकड़ने के लिए उसके तेज कदम का वर्णन करती है। कवि एक चील को देखता है जो एक ऊँची चट्टान पर अकेला रहता है। चील अपने घुमावदार पंजों से चट्टान को पकड़े हुए है। बाज आकाश में इतना ऊँचा है कि वह सूर्य के बहुत निकट प्रतीत होता है। वह एकाकी चट्टान पर बिलकुल अकेला खड़ा है क्योंकि वहां कोई इंसान या जानवर नहीं है। नीला आकाश है जो पृष्ठभूमि में इसके चारों ओर एक वलय बनाता है।
दूसरा श्लोक अपने शिकार को देखकर चील की क्रिया का वर्णन करता है। चट्टान के नीचे एक समुद्र है जिस पर चील खड़ा है। समुद्र की सतह पर लहरें उठ रही हैं। ये लहरें समुद्र के चेहरे पर झुर्रियों जैसी दिखती हैं। चील पहाड़ से समुद्र को देख रहा है। श्लोक की पहली दो पंक्तियाँ दिखाती हैं कि कैसे वह अपने ऊंचे स्थान से देखता है, समुद्र उसके नीचे चला जाता है और तीसरी पंक्ति हमें चील द्वारा अपने शिकार पर वज्र की तरह उछालने के लिए की गई तेज चाल के बारे में बताती है।
