1. How did the fowler catch the quails?
Ans. The fowler used to imitate the notes of the quails to attract the birds and after the birds gathered in one place, he flung his net over them and caught them. Then he crams them into his basket and sells them in the market.
2. What trick did the quails play on the fowler?
Ans. The quails played a trick on the fowler by flying together lifting the net up, throwing it on the thorny bush and escaping from underneath. The Fowler had to disentangle it and had to go home empty-handed.
3. What did the Fowler’s wife tell him when he returned home empty-handed?
Ans. The Fowler’s wife got angry with him when he returned home empty-handed for several days. She told him that he might have got a second establishment to keep up elsewhere.
4. Why did the quails wrangle?
Ans. The quails wrangled because one of them accidentally trod over the other’s head while alighting on the feeding ground. This led to an argument between the two and it took the form of a serious quarrel.
5. Why did the leader quail decide to leave?
Ans. The leader quail decided to leave the quarrelling group. It felt unsafe with the quarrelsome group because it was not united anymore. The leader quail felt that Fowler would get his opportunity, so he left the group.
6. What made Fowler successful in the end?
Ans. The fowler became successful in the end due to the lack of unity shown by the quails to lift up the net. The quails asked each other to lift up the net and, in the meantime, fowler gathered the net and crammed the birds in his basket.

Ans. There is a famous story based on the moral “Union is Strength” from The Farmer and his Four Sons. The farmer explained to his son the value of unity by a simple example of giving them a single stick and then a bundle of sticks. The story told us that if we are united no one will be able to harm us. Non-cooperation leads to failure. Anything can be achieved by collective efforts but it is not possible if we are alone. The lack of unity is an invitation to our enemies to harm us. We should live with unity.
